This course introduces students to the foundational skills of academic research, equipping them to ask meaningful questions, locate trustworthy information, and evaluate sources critically. Adapted from the textbook Doing Research (Celia Brinkerhoff, CC-BY), the course has been contextualized for use in the Kerygma Educational System.

Alongside general research instruction, the course also provides specialized training in theological writing. Students will learn to cite Scripture responsibly, engage the church’s creeds, councils, and fathers, integrate contemporary scholarship, and uphold theological integrity with academic rigor. The goal is to prepare students to conduct research that is both academically credible and faithful to the life and mission of the church.
